Akinci: Statement on Turkey and BBF

Economic, political bankruptcy and corruption also affect Turkish Cypriots deeply. The way out is through a policy that respects universal legal norms, human rights, democratic principles and is at peace with the world.

Mustafa Akinci released a statement on facebook:

Turkey’s one-man regime is rapidly driving the country towards destruction, economically and politically.

Unfortunately, the situation is at a grave point in the TRNC, which is under the influence of Turkey in all respects.

The deprivation of the freedoms of Osman Kavala, Selahattin Demirtas and many others, and the forced living of some intellectuals outside Turkey, cannot be explained by any modern legal norm.

The understanding that bans Ali Us, Ahmet An and Ali Kishmir from entering Turkey is the result of the same unlawful politics.

This anti-democratic politics, which has reached the point of expelling 10 foreign ambassadors from Turkey, is doomed to hit the wall. Unfortunately, Turkish Cypriots suffer as much as those who live in Turkey.

Economic, political bankruptcy and corruption also affect Turkish Cypriots deeply. The way out is through a policy that respects universal legal norms, human rights, democratic principles and is at peace with the world.

It is imperative to stop playing with time with formulas that will not be available in Cyprus and to work in cooperation with the international community in line with the federal solution, which is the only possible solution. This is the way to achieve a better future in Turkey and Cyprus.
