    Infrastructure works continue in Closed Maras (Varosha)

    Mayor Arter said that infrastructure works have been started in the area up to the end of Polat Pasha Boulevard and Ermu Street, where the municipality is located, and that road, electricity and drainage works have been carried out.

    A new infrastructure work is being carried out in the area designated as a pilot area in Closed Maras (Varosha).

    Famagusta Municipality has started road, electricity and drainage works in the area up to the end of Polat Pasha Boulevard and Ermu Street.

    In Closed Maras, infrastructure works such as roads, electricity and rain drainage are being carried out in the area of 3.5 percent, which has been transferred from military control to civilian administration and designated as a pilot zone by the decision of the Council of Ministers in July 2021.

    Answering tak reporter’s questions on the subject, Famagusta Mayor Ismail Arter gave information about the work carried out on the road from Polat Pasha Boulevard to Bilal Agha Masjid.

    Mayor Arter said that infrastructure works have been started in the area up to the end of Polat Pasha Boulevard and Ermu Street, where the municipality is located, and that road, electricity and drainage works have been carried out.

    Arter stated that the area leading from Polat Pasha Boulevard to Bilal Agha Masjid was not open to the public and that there was no entry to the area except for business vehicles, and that the opening of the area to the public could be raised after the completion of the works and the security.
