Prime Minister and the Leader of the National Unity Party (UBP) Ersin Tatar stated that no one can ignore the rights of the Turkish Cypriot people and Turkey in the Eastern Mediterranean and force them and Turkey to step back from their rights.
Evaluating the Greek Cypriot Administration issuing a warrant for the arrest of Fatih drill ship workers and officials of companies which cooperate with the Turkish Petroleum Corporation, Prime Minister Tatar said that if there is someone who is acting unlawfully and unfairly it is the Greek Cypriot side which signs agreements by ignoring our proposals and rights.
In his statement, Tatar stressed that the Greek Cypriot Administration and those who cooperate with them for their own interests try to exclude Turkey and the TRNC from the Eastern Mediterranean and usurp our rights. Tatar added “It should be known very well that it is the Greek Cypriot side which makes agreements by ignoring the rights of the Turkish Cypriots. I make a call to the Greek Cypriot side which issued a warrant for the arrest of 25 workers of the Fatih drill ship to avoid such steps, and come to an agreement with us”.
“We warn the United Nations and the third parties that we will not be responsible for the results which may arise due to the Greek Cypriot side refusing our proposals on the issue continuously and their steps which increase the tension” Tatar stressed.
