In a post on his Twitter account, Oktay reminded the GREEK authorities that it would not be possible to erase the historical heritage that the past had placed on their shoulders by tearing pages from textbooks,

“This disrespect to Ataturk, the founder of our Republic, and to our nation in his eyes, is essentially the clearest indication of the Indigestion of the Greeks against the Turkish presence on the island. I condemn it!”
