    Thunderstorm warning issued for Cyprus

    A yellow weather alert has been issued for Friday due to the chances of heavy showers and hailstorms, while moderate dust levels persist in the area through the weekend.

    Officials issued a thunderstorm warning for Friday starting in the morning at 9am and ending in the early evening at 6 pm, citing isolated heavy thunderstorms that are likely to affect the area. Precipitation is also expected to between 35 and 55 millimeters per hour, while hail is also possible.

    Saturday skies are expected to be partly cloudy and at times cloudy, with showers and thunderstorms in the morning forecast

    Friday skies will remain partly cloudy and at times cloudy while local showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to be severe in some areas, with heavy winds and the possibility of hailstorms.

    Temperature highs are expected to reach 25° degrees Celsius inland and along the coast, while it will be 17 up in the mountains.

    Very strong winds are expected in the evening with skies partly cloudy and at times cloudy and minimum lows registering at 14 degrees in the interior, around 20 in the east, 16 in the north and out west, 17 in the south, and 8 degrees up in the mountains.

    Saturday skies are expected to be partly cloudy and at times cloudy, with showers and thunderstorms in the morning forecast. Afternoon weather is expected to turn mostly clear with no significant change on Sunday and some high clouds on Monday.

    Moderate dust levels in the atmosphere are expected to clear out on Sunday.
