    Cyprus COVID: North 182 New Positive,1 Death, South 311 New Positive,2 Deaths, Saturday

    The number of tests carried out in the last 24 hours was 14,899, 182 positive cases, 1 person died and 94 people were discharged.

    83 people are from Nicosia, 21 from Kyrenia, 31 from Famagusta, 3 from Iskele, 5 from Guzelyurt, 1 from Lefke Region.

    South Cyprus

    The Health Ministry announced the death of two persons due to COVID-19. This raises the death toll from the virus in Cyprus to 477, 307 men and 170 women with an average age of 77. The Health Ministry also announced 311 new Coronavirus cases out of 51,499 PCR and rapid antigen tests on Saturday, 21 August, taking confirmed infections to 111,140.

    The 311 cases through PCR and rapid tests are as follows:

    • 32 from the process of tracing of already confirmed cases (334 tests today)
    • Six taken within the framework of checking passengers at Larnaca and Paphos Airports (3,457 tests today)
    • 54 through private initiative (3,315 tests today)
    • Four taken from public hospital labs (125 tests today)
    • 142 from antigen rapid tests conducted privately (29,577 tests today)
    • 73 confirmed cases found through 14,554 antigen rapid tests.
