Captain of a Maltese-flagged ship was arrested by South Cyprus Police for illegal entry into the territory of the Republic of Cyprus on 14 October and 12 December 2020.
According to the Police, the captain of the 60-year-old Maltese-flagged Red Garnet ship was arrested on the morning of Sunday 1 August at the EAC terminal in Vasilikos, after an inspection found that the ship had sailed last October and December to the port in Bogazi in the TRNC.
Later today the 60-year-old from Romania is expected to be brought before the Larnaca District Court for a detention order.
