    5.7 Earthquake northwest of Crete

    A strong 5.7 magnitude earthquake in the Richter Scale occurred at 9:23 am northwest of Crete.

    The Euro-Mediterranean Institute has announced a magnitude 6 Richter earthquake.

    The epicenter was located at 74km. west of Chania.

    The earthquake affected both Athens and the Peloponnese.
