On July 12, 27-year-old Turkish Cypriot resident of Pile was reportedly kidnapped, beaten and robbed in Larnaca, he reported the crime to the police.
Alithia newspaper reported, a 27-year-old Turkish Cypriot reported the crime to the police, the police arrested a 42-year-old man who is suspect of the crime and was given 8-day detention order by the Larnaca Court.
According to the news, he told the Turkish Cypriot police that while he was driving around the port of Larnaca, an unknown person – possibly Greek Cypriot – approached him and asked him to take him to the nearby supermarket in English.
Following the incident, the perpetrator escaped with the Turkish Cypriots vehicle, the vehicle was found abandoned around Larnaca Harbor two days later. The 42-year-old suspect was arrested at his home in Larnaca at his house.
The Haravgi newspaper claimed the 42-year-old suspect is a Turkish Cypriot.
