The Gasoline Association said fuel distribution companies K-Pet and Al-Pet had stopped selling fuel to gas stations as of morning, citing losses following a price change in the currency.
Levent Cagdal, president of the Gasoline Association, told TAK that there is an automatic pricing system in fuel, and that there will be a change in prices on October 26th according to this system, which updates the price of fuel according to the exchange rate every 15 days, but distribution companies have stopped distributing without waiting for this date, claiming that they have lost an average of 1 TL per liter.
Cagdal also mentioned the density of gas stations and noted that gas stations are currently using existing fuel stocks.
Cagdal said they have requested a meeting with the Ministry of Economy and Energy on the issue, but have not yet received a response.
