Tatar accepted the resignation of the TRNC Government

President Tatar will have meetings with all parties and then decide on the road map.

TRNC President Ersin Tatar delivered a letter to the president of the parliament of the TRNC Oder Senaroglou that he accepts the resignation of the government, as well as a letter to Ersan Saner asking him to continue in the position of prime minister until the formation of the new government.

After President Tatar’s meeting with Mr. Senaroglou and Mr. Saner today, Mr. Senaroglou said that he would start the process and that all bills become obsolete. But he said some urgent issues could be pushed through in tomorrow’s session concerning immigration and farmers’ compensation. Saner said only urgent matters will be sent to the “parliament” by his office.

He also said that the National Unity Party to which he belongs is always ready for early elections and that all parties agreed on early elections on February 6, while his party is ready for any date for holding elections after the party congress on September 30-31.

In response to a question, he said that a governmental model does not seem feasible with the current composition in the parliament. He also said that President Tatar will have meetings with all parties and then decide on the road map.

For his part, President Tatar said the electoral law could be changed, and they will consider whether this is possible before the elections or not. He added that their new policy on the Cyprus issue based on equal sovereignty is also an important factor affecting politics and must be taken into account.
