    It took her 3 years and, finally, at the ripe old age of 21, Lexie Alford now holds the title of the youngest person ever to travel to all 196 countries in the world according to the Guinness Book of World Records.

    Alford started traveling at a very young age, as her mother was the owner of a travel agency. “Growing up, I accompanied my mother on her business trips around the world. I have been to more than 70 countries. “And after raising money for over six years, when I graduated from college, at 18, I decided to start my own adventure,” she tells Business Insider.

    It was not easy. Alford found it very difficult to obtain a visa for some countries such as Venezuela and Pakistan, where the process took months.

    When asked which countries made the biggest impression, she said “For the most well-preserved history in the world, I love Egypt. “For the friendliest locals, I had a great experience in North Pakistan”.

    “The most unique island in the world, in my opinion, is Iceland, the land of fire and ice. And for the most incredible natural beauty, I enjoyed visiting Angel Falls in Venezuela.”

    Of all the airlines, Lexie says she prefers Delta and KLM, although, according to Lexie, food on almost all planes is bad.

    As for the best means of transport, she says she prefers trains. When asked why, Lexie explained that they allowed her to see changing landscapes in a leisurely way.
