President Mustafa Akıncı and the Greek Cypriot Administration Leader Nicos Anastasiades attended a reception at the buffer zone on the occasion of UN Day which was hosted by UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative to Cyprus Elizabeth Spehar.
Spehar made a speech at the reception at the Ledra Palace Hotel in the buffer zone in Lefkosa and said that the UN Secretary-General has designated next year’s theme as ‘Mutual problems and Mutual solutions’ and next year’s efforts will be in that context. Spehar saluted President Akıncı and the Greek Cypriot leader in her speech and said ‘we may concentrate on that theme all together’. Spehar also touched upon the UN’s intended works in Cyprus.
