Customers left stranded after parking firm goes out of business – Daily Mail

A parking firm dumped hundreds of holidaymakers’ car keys at the information desk of Bournemouth Airport after the company ceased trading without warning. A man abandoned the sets in a holdall and then ‘immediately left’ after BOMO Parking Services wound up, causing chaos for returning tourists. Travel-weary families were bewildered when airport officials greeted them with the news that security staff would drive them to their cars. At least one group of friends discovered their keys had gone missing. Lisa Russell (pictured, main, on the left), from Southampton, returned from Malaga with husband Michael and two friends early yesterday to find her keys had vanished. She said: ‘We have had no warning and no message from the company explaining what’s happened. It’s just such a shame that we’ve had a wonderful holiday and then this happens as soon as we come back.’ Airport staff were tasked with trying to match keys to their owners and will continue to face that challenge as more holidaymakers return to the UK from breaks to be greeted by the mayhem. (Pictured left, and, bottom-right, the notices that awaited families returning home.)
