Türeci explained the Covid-19 outbreak and vaccines on “The CNBC Conversation”. Emphasizing that Covid-19 is “already becoming controllable”, Türeci stated that “, the coronavirus will be with us for a few more years”.
Ozlem Türeci stated that BioNTech is “constantly evaluating new variants of Covid-19 and other variants will appear”, adding that “for all variants currently available, support doses that reduce the reduced immune response to high levels seem protective alone.” he noted that they have to observe the variants, that this may not be the case when they are new, and that they are preparing themselves in order to act quickly in adapting to the new variant if such a thing happens.
Pointing out that they need more data to guide the way out of the Covid-19 outbreak, Türeci predicted that in the future, Booster shots can be made “every 12 to 18 months”.
