Rain and thunderstorms continue today across the island with the yellow warning issued yesterday by the Met Office remaining effective until 5 pm today.
The Met Office said that rain, at times, and isolated thunderstorms, are expected to affect the area. The total rain accumulation is locally likely to exceed 50 millimeters in a six-hour period.
An extensive low-pressure system centered on Albania is moving south-east and is expected to affect Cyprus until Sunday.
Temperatures this afternoon will reach 16 C inland, 7 C in the mountains and 18 C in the coastal areas, dropping tonight to 9 C inland, 3 C in the mountains and 14 C in the coastal areas.
On Sunday more rain and thunderstorms are expected.
Clearer skies are predicted for Monday and Tuesday which will be mainly fine.
