Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu stated that the Greek Cypriot side should be in search of cooperation with the Turkish Cypriot side and Greece should be in search of cooperation with Turkey. Çavuşoğlu replied to the questions of A Haber on a live programme.
Expressing the agreement signed with Libya regarding determining maritime jurisdiction and the continental shelf of Turkey in the Eastern Mediterranean on a map, Çavuşoğlu showed the parcels of Turkey within the prior continental shelf, the zones which were granted licence by the Greek Cypriot Administration, 7th Parcel where Turkey has carried out drilling activity and the zones which were granted license by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to the Turkish Petroleum Corporation.
Pointing out the new continental shelf of Libya, Çavuşoğlu also stated the Turkish continental shelf of which west borders are determined on the map.
Upon a question regarding delimitation of maritime jurisdiction in the Eastern Mediterranean, Çavuşoğlu said that Turkey can compromise with the riparian states, except the Greek Cypriot Administration, and the Greek Cypriot side should be in search of cooperation with the Turkish Cypriot people, and Greece should be in search of cooperation with Turkey.
