A 69-year-old man in an electric wheelchair was killed when he was hit by a car in Nicosia on Saturday morning.

Michalis Savastides is the third person to be killed on the island’s roads in less than 48 hours.

He was hit by a car on Constantinipoleos Avenue in Nicosia’s Kaimakli area at 11 am on Saturday.

An 84-year-old man died after his car plunged down a ravine in Ayios Epiphanios yesterday afternoon while a 70-year-old woman was killed near Akaki when the car she was in collided with another vehicle early on Friday morning.
