Turkish National Defence Minister Hulusi Akar stated that Turkey will not allow anyone to usurp the rights of Turkey and the TRNC.

Speaking at an event he attended, Akar mentioned the activities in the Aegean, Eastern Mediterranean, and Cyprus and he also added that Turkey supports international law, bi-lateral agreements and friendly solutions to its problems.

Akar said that Turkey’s activities in the region should not be acknowledged as a sign of weakness. He also noted that they will not allow a fait accompli in the region nor will they allow anyone to usurp the rights of Turkey and the TRNC.

Akar continued:

“Accordingly our preparations are complete. This is not a threat. We only want rationally good neighborly relations and we expect the other side to respond accordingly. The Fatih, the Yavuz, the Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa and Oruç Reis drilling vessels are carrying out their duties in an exemplary manner.
