The body of a male foreign national found in the trunk of a car parked in an area knows as the Lefkosa schools road has been identified as that of missing Nigerian student, Obasanjo Adeola Owoyale.

Obasanjo, 33 was declared missing on Monday, July 1 after he left his home and never returned.

Police were alerted to the scene after residents noticed a foul smell in the area.

Arriving the scene at about 1:15 pm, police found a body wrapped in a blanket inside the trunk of a car parked in an area near the Martyr Hussein Ruso Middle School.

The car belongs to Mr. Obasanjo and was also declared missing last week

A first examination on the body revealed that he had a large cut on him.

The police, firefighters, and crime scene investigation teams took the car from the scene to the police headquarters in Lefkosa.

The body was taken to the Lefkosa State Hospital where an autopsy will be carried out to determined the true cause of death.

Members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Turkish Zone, a body that represents Nigerian students in the region and Nigerian students were at the police station as police start investigation into the incident
