Regarding the Maraş decision of the government, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Kudret Özersay indicated that they will take steps which will not harm the property rights of previous residents of the closed Maraş.
In his statement from his social media account, Özersay replied to statements of the so-called Greek Cypriot Mayor of Maraş, Aleksis Galanos, and called upon him to “refrain from prejudiced statements”
“With our statement, we made it clear that we will take steps which will not harm the property rights of previous residents of the closed Maraş,” Özersay said and indicated that they see the previous residents of Maraş as being some of the stakeholders.
In his statement, Kudret Özersay also said: “there is no need to be anxious about the inventory work which will clarify the current situation and help everyone to understand the present data. Everyone who wants a change of this status quo has to go beyond the ordinary in some directions.
